Today is a day to honor those who help sustain life from within every single day. Those who give people a sense of stability when everything around them is in turmoil. Those who are there when it’s hardest to find the right words.

Today, psychologists are the first line of support where the pain is greatest. You work at strike sites, in communities living under constant strain. You stand by children who have seen, far too early, what no child should ever see. You stand by women who bear the weight of their families, their losses, the uncertainty, and the daily struggle.

You support internally displaced persons, people who have survived the occupation, and those returning to a life where every sound can trigger memories and every day can be a challenge. You work with military personnel who have gone through war and are searching for a way back  to peace, to themselves, and to their loved ones.

Your work is more than just a profession. It requires daily dedication, resilience, depth, and a big heart. You help people find meaning, strength, and hope. You restore their ability to breathe, feel, trust, and live.

“Today, it is especially important to talk about something else: the need for a sufficient number of psychologists in Ukraine is extremely urgent. There are millions of people who need support. And every new specialist, every team, every psychological support service is another step toward the country’s recovery, toward healing society, toward our shared future,” noted Natalia Stadnychuk, director of the NGO “Space for Positive Change.”

Thank you for your work, for your compassion, and for your strength in being there for others. You are incredibly important!

Happy Ukrainian Psychologist Day!
