About the organization:
NGO “Space for Positive Changes” is a Ukrainian non-profit, non-political public organization. The organization was established in April and registered on May 6, 2022.
NGO “Space for Positive Changes” works to improve and support the mental health of Ukrainians and to develop an influential and effective civil society. We believe that a developed civil society is a sign of a country's mental health.
Our mission:
To create positive changes in society by promoting a culture of dignity, respect and understanding.
We believe that:
Dignity, respect and understanding are the foundation of unity. Unity is necessary for victory, reconstruction and recovery. Together, we can make a difference in our community and country.

Our values
Dignity
This is the highest social value, no one has the right to encroach on it, it belongs to a person from birth, and it cannot be alienated or transferred. To be a decent human being means to realize one's value as a person and at the same time to recognize the value of other people, to respect others regardless of their origin, nationality, age, physical characteristics, etc.
We recognize that dignity is the main quality of our life, that all people are equal in their dignity and rights, that we value each and every one of them, and that we are ready to help when we see injustice. We are ready to protect the dignity of others from encroachments on it and violations of their rights.
Freedom
Freedom is the most important value. Personal freedom is the ability to make choices. A person is free when they can make choices in accordance with their values, desires, interests and goals, but without compromising the freedom and rights of others.
We support free choice for everyone, freedom of thought or speech, and the ability to make one's own decisions and take responsibility for them.
Respect
Respect is the recognition of a person's dignity. To respect a person means to honor their dignity and honor. A modern community and a stable society cannot exist without respect. Respect implies appreciation and acceptance of another person, their beliefs, rights and individuality, respect for human boundaries, and acceptance of diversity of expression. Respect is the basis for developing partnerships and trust.
Recognizing the importance of respect, we create harmonious relationships and promote positive development both at the individual level and in communities and society.
Equality
Equality is the foundation of a just society. Everyone has the right to respect, equal opportunities and impartial treatment, regardless of skin color, age, gender, social status, nationality, religion or other characteristics.
We recognize and respect the individual differences and uniqueness of each person and create conditions for their development and self-realization.

Trust
Trust is the foundation of relationships, open and positive connections. It is a prerequisite for sincere interaction and is based on a sense of security and support. Trust is the basis for building sustainable communities.
We always strive to establish trusting relationships in our interactions. We create a comfortable and safe space for each person to open up and develop.
Awareness
Awareness is the understanding and acceptance of everything that happens in life here and now. To be a conscious person is to accept your actions, thoughts, feelings, desires, dreams, goals, and situation, to realize your own resources and act accordingly, to understand the consequences of your actions and decisions, and to be flexible when the situation changes. Mindfulness is a powerful tool for personal growth.
We are constantly developing our awareness, learning and teaching factual thinking, distinguishing facts from judgments. This is what saves us, gives us the strength and resources to cope with difficult situations, survive, live and help others.
Understanding
Understanding is an awareness of differences, mutual agreements, and consistency in actions and deeds. Sincerity, tact, the ability to speak, listen and hear, and assertive communication and interaction contribute to mutual understanding.
In our activities, we strive for mutual understanding between people, authorities and society. We accept different opinions and the right to have one's own opinion, use approaches that help to reach agreements, and create and keep those agreements.
Responsibility
Responsibility is an important component of freedom. Internal responsibility is a sign of a mature personality who takes responsibility for their own state, emotions, words, their manifestations in communication with other people, for the results and consequences of their actions, and is aware of the limits of their own responsibility.
We demonstrate our responsibility by honoring our agreements and commitments, openly discussing when agreements need to be changed due to certain circumstances, and recognizing and correcting mistakes. In our activities, we value and foster responsibility within the team and in partnerships.
Professionalism
Professionalism is a set of theoretical knowledge, practical experience and professional skills that help a person to realize themselves in society. It is a lifelong learning and consistent development of competencies.
In our activities, we provide a systematic exchange of knowledge and practical experience, constantly improving professional skills both within the team and with participants in joint projects. For us, professionalism also means systematic, result-oriented actions, adequate distribution of responsibilities and delegation of authority, responsibility for actions and results.
Partnership
Partnership for us means an equal position in a common cause, mutually beneficial relations, clear agreements and voluntary cooperation. The main principles of partnership are: respect for the individual, goodwill and positive attitude, trust in relationships, the right to choose and responsibility for it, voluntary acceptance of obligations and the obligation to fulfill agreements.
We are open to suggestions and are ready to cooperate on equal terms for the mutual benefit of partners and society.

An atmosphere of respect, support and trust
When implementing projects and programs, we create an atmosphere in which participants can express themselves without fear, communicate freely, and be themselves. We believe that controversial issues should be discussed and mutually acceptable solutions should be sought.

We use public communication channels to share information about the organization's projects and programs, striving to create equal opportunities for potential participants, and publicly report to the public on the activities implemented.

We focus on the ability of everyone to realize their rights, follow the principles of equality and non-discrimination, and recognize that people have the right to assistance in this process.
A gender-sensitive approach
We pay attention to researching the needs, interests, capabilities, and experiences of all groups of women and men, girls and boys involved in our projects, take them into account when preparing and implementing projects, and strive to create conditions for their practical implementation.
A systematic approach
Medium- and short-term plans of the organization and its employees are in line with strategic directions and goals. Joint plans are agreed upon by the team, taking into account all areas of the organization's work.
A practical approach
We rely not on theoretical knowledge but on working practical models. Our trainers and experts are practitioners who have their own successful experience in applying the tools and technologies they offer for use by project and program participants.
