The 4th Civil Society Week in Ukraine will take place September 14–20, 2026. It was launched in 2023 as part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Promoting the Development of Civil Society.

This is not just a series of events spanning a single week, but an opportunity to once again see just how important a role civil society organizations, initiatives, volunteers, active citizens, and partnerships with the government play in the country’s development. This is precisely why Civil Society Week is needed: to exchange experiences, learn, discuss challenges, find partners, and work together to develop solutions.

This is particularly relevant for Ukraine today. The war has made it very clear that a nation’s resilience is not solely the work of government institutions. It also stems from the strength of society — its ability to self-organize, support one another, defend its rights, and take responsibility for the future.

Today, a strong civil society requires trust, open dialogue, transparency, and meaningful citizen participation in decision-making; therefore, among the key themes of the Week are civic engagement, partnership, democracy, the development of tools for collaboration, and the search for new solutions for the public sector.

Civil Society Week is yet another opportunity to talk about what we do every day: bringing people together, supporting women, developing communities, and creating spaces for dialogue, learning, and mutual support.

The NGO “Space for Positive Change” is actively involved in the development of civil society through projects, partnerships, educational events, and initiatives that help people feel empowered and influence the changes around them. For us, civil society is not just about organizations or events. It’s about people who don’t turn a blind eye, who come together and take small but important steps every day toward a society worth living in.
