Gifts are not just objects; above all, they are a way to convey attention, care, gratitude, and warmth. They can say: “I see you,” “You matter to me,” “I want to share my joy.” That’s why it’s important to view a gift as a gesture, not as an obligation or a material possession.

We love giving gifts, but we also gladly accept them. Because it comes from the heart! Even a small token can carry great meaning if it’s given with love!

Let’s remember that eco-friendly gift-giving is about mindfulness and care. If you truly need and can use the item — accept it with joy. If not — think about who might benefit from it: pass it on, trade it, give it to someone else, or repurpose it. This way, we reduce the number of unnecessary items while continuing the chain of kindness.

“Gratitude is an important part of the culture of giving. A few sincere words, a warm glance, a smile, or a short message afterward is enough. It’s important to thank the giver not only for the gift itself but also for the thought and time they put into choosing it. That’s what creates a sense of closeness and mutual respect,” noted Natalia Stadnychuk, director and trainer at the NGO “Space for Positive Change.”

We are very grateful for the gifts; we display them around the office, and we rejoice and remember the givers.

And what is more important to you — giving or receiving gifts?
